It is not that often that I feel compelled to write a review, but this is undoubtedly the crappiest action movie I have seen in decades. Assassin X makes all the later Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgreen and JC Van Damme movies seem like Oscar worthy epic movies.
In Assassin X we are graced with a whole slew of unknown actors and the result speaks for itself. Not only is the acting dreadful, one could find better and more gifted actors by throwing a dart at any local community theater anywhere in the country, but the script is a total dud.
The story line did have potential but for whatever reason the script just isn't well executed and so the whole movie took a nosedive.
I agree with whoever commented above; the worst thing about the movie was the abysmally poor acting- especially the terrible performances by "actors" Steven Dell (Blaine) and Stephanie Gerard. I don't know if they are relatives of the producer or how in the world they convinced anyone to allow them to be on screen, much less paid to act? I mean the acting is so bad I could smell the stink through the screen.
Dell seemed to just rely on flexing muscles and continuously looked lost and confused the entire time he was on screen. He was so ridiculous that it was distracting; while Nina Bergman (Trinidad) was over eager and theatrical- and almost as silly to watch. No reasonable effort was put into making a coherent story line or good camera work. And even less effort was put into bringing the characters to life. It seemed more like a group of adults playing an awkward game of dress up and make believe. These people should not be making movies they clearly have zero background in acting, nor any talent as actors.
Action sequences were unrealistic, over-acted, dark and even hard to see (I mean physically see lol. Poor camera work) Plot "twists" were predictable and boring. This performance is the type where you feel insulted as an audience that people are trying to pass this off as a movie just to make a buck off you.
I agree with the post above- no idea who is giving art Camacho money to make movies but pouring it into a lackluster script like this and into ridiculous actors like these is really wasteful. How wonderful if instead that money Was just given towards the arts for kids in underprivileged areas, or really to any cause other than this train wreck of a movie.
This movie became better when Ronus meets Gabriela as the photography and dialogues made more sense then, and we had opportunity to understand what was going on. Prior to that meeting we got a jumble of flashbacks, confusing choreography, a jumpy camera and dialogues we couldn't make out. The beginning of this movie was a mess to put it bluntly and we had no idea what was going on with these numerous flashbacks, who the hero was (we didn't know about Oliver Gruner), and many darkened scenes that assumed we knew what this was all about. We had no clue.
We were waiting for Ronus' rules for an assassin to live by and we were not disappointed as he gave them to Blaine. I just love it when an assassin gives out these rules and we usually find out he cannot live up to them as the story continues. But not in here. Not this time. Ronus lives by these rules and doesn't violate them.
Blaine picks up Trinidad (Nina Bergman) who is most enamored with Blaine being an assassin and even goes on missions with him. What's not to like? (Yeah, she's a keeper)
There is pretty good action choreography later on, and there is a twist I am sure most of us saw coming. We were afraid of this twist and were hoping we were wrong. But we were not wrong. (Bummer)
I was not familiar with Oliver Gruner and I am sure we will see him in other Action-Hero type movies as he did a great job. (5/10)
Violence: Yes. Sex: No. Nudity: No. Language: No.

- PifiasOlivier takes a large caliber bullet in the left shoulder early in the long set of climactic battles. Yet he still fights a slew of bad guys hand-to-hand the rest of the night, without any treatment for the wound or signs of impairment while in engaged in a slew of heated slugfests.
