Were we supposed to take this seriously?

This was both cringy and demeaning. That any of these filthy rich celebrities feel that we are "together" is about as out of touch as you can get. The only thing that this did was lend a spotlight to celebs that are going crazy without the attention that they are used to. If this was todays attempt at "We are the World" it was HORRIBLY off the mark. This was a cluster of privileged, arrogant, rich people telling us that we're all together in this. Cool! I'm gonna hop over to any one of their mansions to hang out after this is all over.

They were hoping for Clout and virtue signaling but it ended up being embarrassing and inducing eye rolling en masse.

    One World: Together at Home

I see the alt right and the deluded have been reviewing this show. Easy to forget that both the USA and UK have very right wing governments.

An antidote to the Live Aid type of extravaganzas. These are stars performing from their front rooms or back gardens due to social distancing rules.

I saw the delayed broadcast on the BBC which also had stories about doctors and nurses on the front line. The British people displayed their love of the NHS when they voted in a fourth Tory government in December 2019.

Some acts were more successful than others. The Rolling Stones were good, they have not seemed to have aged. Mainly because they looked about 65 in 1980.

I enjoyed the duet between John Legend and Sam Smith. Legend had all his Grammy awards on display, Smith had his Oscar somewhere in the background.

Billie Eilish forgot to switch on her mike, Elton John forgot to take his lozenge. J-Lo has one hell of a back garden.

    Less rhetoric, more music

Those like myself, hoping for some decent music from many talented people will be very disappointed. Too much talking from the entitled rich trying to remain relevant in a world where they have zero importance.

One of the greatest insults was Beyonce telling us that 57% of Covid victims were African-American and were more deserving of our sympathies as though the virus was racist. Either she's suffering from persecution syndrome or from lack of relevance syndrome, thus resorting to empty virtue signalling. The irony was, in the next segment, the plight of the homeless was shown with the first person filmed sitting on the street being a young white man.

I truly hope that in the post Covid world this type of bogus victimization disappears. The people who suffer the most in this world has always been and will always be the poor. Color, sex and religion has nothing to do with it. The virus doesn't discriminate either. A ludicrous suggestion.

There was plenty of other nauseating segments too. I did like the Safety Dance routine and Eddie Vedder playing 'River Cross' solo on the organ. That was all class. Some of the segments on people helping others was nice to see but this was no modern day Live Aid.

Mostly the 'performances' were third-rate. It just goes to prove how much these people rely on a full band, fancy lighting and filming techniques to create their image. Otherwise they are just as empty as their rhetoric.

Where is the part that was broadcast on TV???

I missed this and wanted to watch what I thought was a reasonable length, Star-studded concert. But I can't find it!

All I found was a six hour marathon of people I mostly never heard of promising a big concert , which never happened. This was only available on YouTube. Then I found an eight-hour version of the same stupid show, which I guess has the good part at the end. Of course streaming means I can't fast forward through the six hours of garbage to get to the good stuff.

On demand and streaming have ruined video for me.

    Terrific and uplifting

This was not a political show. It was a show to entertain and let people forget how bad things are for a couple of hours. Lighten up, people? Not everything has to be political. I give the performers a lot of credit for doing this. Especially loved Keith Urban's cover of Steve Winwood's Higher Love and The Rolling Stones.
