Did these two get corporate funding just because of their grandads name to fund their pleasure dives? I'm confused here. What 'legends' am I supposed to be taking away from watching this on the science channel? That with the right last name, you too can dive for free?!
I enjoyed the show, and I think we need more of shows researching various anomalies around the world and especially underwater. This documentary mini-series is definitely more about the journey than the destination, and I still had a good time watching it.
The things I liked about show:
The things I didn't like about the show:
Now, I know that these episodes are quite demanding to make, very budget-consuming and not to mention pretty dangerous, as well. Another good thing I have to mention is that all 4 episodes of the show are available to watch for free on Legends of the deep official facebook page, even if not in the best video quality :)
The things I liked about show:
- The stories of legends and mysteries behind each episode are very intriguing
- I liked the underwater footage
- The mysterious vibe of the stories combined with spooky scenarios is a great formula for the show, so it's entertaining.
- I also enjoyed the various routes the show took, such as collecting further evidence, interviewing eyewitnesses or people who knows about the legends in an attept to come closer to solve the mysteries.
The things I didn't like about the show:
- The show seems more oriented towards surviving every minute under water than it is on exploration alone. There is always mortal danger in every step they do. So usually as soon as they get to the bottom of the sea and look around a bit they already have to resurface.
- The episodes feel scripted. The music sometimes it too over the top to accentuate the drama, the dialogues, the camera positions most of the time don't feel natural or genune at all, also there to cause more drama. In the end it feels more like a movie than an actual documentary.
- The show could have more episodes, there are only 4.
- Nothing interesting is ever found, except in the very last episode.

Please please please please stop pretending every mundane event is some life threatening white knuckle moment. I was actually interested in the content but the show became absolutely insufferable thanks to the dishonest, overplayed, fake as plastic, over-inflated garbage "drama" that did nothing but turn the show into 90% faked fluff and 10% actual content.
I like the concept of the show, but I don't find Celine or Fabien to be very likeable. I'm also already tired of seeing them in the process of suiting up for every dive. I would rather see more underwater footage than them getting their gear together.
They tell some interesting stories about events I hadn't heard before, instead of the same old repeats. But every now and then the directors attempt at "drama" before a commercial break is...mildly annoying.
