Another Erda

Three friends -- Oscar Marion, Feodor Chaliapin, and George Seroff -- are enjoying a weekend camping, when Vera Voronina shows up. She's a circus acrobart who has tired of the life. The fellows make her welcome, then compete for her attention, and finally begin to fight.

It's another appearance of the Erda, the woman who ruins men. Their isolation makes this an opportunity for this very late silent to shoot some nice rural scenery, but the essential simplicity of the story makes it of limited interest.

Fraulein Veronina had been a model when she showed up in Berlin and caught the eye of Gustaf Molander, who used her in one of his productions. Others followed, and she wound up Hollywood. But the changeover to sound left her at loose ends; she did not speak English. Back to Europe she went. This was her last movie. She disappeared from view shortly thereafter and is believed to have died in 1942 at the age of 38 or so.
