Suffice it to say that I had never heard about this 2024 horror movie Pearry Reginald Teo prior to stumbling upon it here in 2025. And with it being a horror movie, and given my love of all things horror, of course I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch the movie. Granted, I had zero expectations, as I virtually didn't know what I was in for here. So director Pearry Reginald Teo had every opportunity to impress and entertain me.
It was a bit amazing that writers Ryan Brookhart, S. Wayne Durham and Pearry Reginald Teo collectively could manage to put together a script that vague and meaningless. The movie was rather sluggishly paced and quite devoid of actual entertainment. And that made it quite a struggle to sit through 87 minutes of this ordeal. I believed that I was in for a horror movie, but this was more of a drama with elements of supernatural thriller and horror.
I was actually not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, and that is actually something I do enjoy when I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in "Pale Horse" were all over the place. Some of the performers didn't have much of any acting talent and delivered stale and emotionless performances, whereas others put on actually fair performances.
The effects in the movie were actually fair, but stood no chance to lift up the movie given its subpar script and storyline, and the clunky acting performances from some of the performers.
This is most certainly not a movie that I would recommend for horror fans to rush out and get to watch. I struggled tremendously with feigning an interest in the movie and ended up tossing the towel into the ring 54 minutes into the 87 minute runtime. By then I was just bored senseless. And this is definitely not a movie that I will ever return to attempt finish watching.
My rating of director Pearry Reginald Teo's 2024 horror movie "Pale Horse" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

I'm not sure how this film has such a high rating. It is definitely not a "7"!
I felt like I was watching an episode of the old 70's show "Dark Shadows" rather than a modern horror film. The filming locations are dull, and the audio from the actors is soft and sometimes unintelligible. I'm referring to the gallery location and the female gallery owner specifically. This is a small scale production, but there isn't really any tension or momentum to horror. The characters and the story are not believeable.
I chose this movie due to the high rating number on IMDb. I won't fall for that again.
This film seems like a play or a TV show instead of a feature film.
