Really no reviews? Quite sad, because it's a lovely horror without any jumpscares. It uses the atmosphere to disturb, yet still presents a story of kids being effectively tortured. Kinda like what skinamarink wanted to be, but couldn't. Yeah, I don't see anything else to say, maybe except the fact you should watch the first part, "the mysterious house" before getting yourself into this. It isn't a strict continuation and things are nicely summarized in the first minute, but it still helps the experience. There's one truely gore scene, but other than that blood is mostly just the color red on furniture. Can recommend, even though as non-horror fan it probably won't translate to the exorcist and Freddy Kruger fans. It gives the same vibe early creepypastas did, but is actually good in contradiction to them.
I was absolutely blown away by The Return of the Pumpkin Rabbit. Here are all the things that make this movie a masterpiece.
1. The Unique Take on Analog Horror: Unlike the common theme that most analog horror videos follow, (that being stuff like possessed tapes) this movie is a faithful callback to classic 80s slasher films, while still being a new and unique piece of work.
2. The Atmosphere: This film doesn't try to scare you with a million jump-scares. Instead it uses the character designs and generally unsettling feel to creep you out.
(My word limit is low. Watch the movie. It rocks!)

The analogue horror visuals are nailed. That being said the animation can come across as slightly robotic in some scenes. Some of the textures and materials used in the set pieces and on the characters have a slightly amateurish look to them, almost airbrushed. The writing is a classic slasher, and feeds off of the innate fears that come to mind when you explored abandoned places with friends as kids. The violence is not over the top but enough to genuinely frighten. The voice acting is great, a bit too muddy to understand at points, but that was what they were going for, and captions fix that issue if you don't mind it taking from the aesthetic.
The cinematography is what really shines in this work compared to previous, it is well storyboarded and thought out, a scene that really stands out in this regard is when jay gets chased through the cabinets.
Overall I think this is Martins best work yet.

WUSSTEST DU SCHON:
- Wissenswertes"The Return of the Pumpkin Rabbit" took around a month to write, storyboard, animate, and in overall produce, starting as a small commercial for the Pumpkin Rabbit and Witch Sheep's plushies made by Makeship, that means that production was so rushed it went to lengths such as Martin having to animate 98 shots in 3 days.
