This film follows Nina (Drew Sidora) and Maurice (Rob Riley), a married couple who decide to explore an unconventional idea - a "hall pass" from fidelity.
What starts as a straightforward concept takes an unexpected turn,
leading to deception and intrigue.
The film's clever storytelling keeps viewers on the edge, surprising them with unexpected plot twists just when they think they've figured it all out.
In "The Pass," creative storytelling and gripping intrigue blend seamlessly to deliver an engaging cinematic experience.
While Kandi shines on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and in her music career, her foray into acting might not be her strongest suit.
Her performances lack conviction and appear somewhat lackluster. In "The Pass," her portrayal falls a bit short, lacking the necessary depth.
However, the film remains enjoyable, especially with a glass of wine in hand. The drama.

A few things: I don't like being negative but the 2 stars are for Drew's acting and Todd for his first movie. The -8 stars are for the following harsh but honest observations:
There are a few decent amateur actors like Drew's mom & boss but every other actor was awful! Very hard to watch.
Personally, I think Todd & Kandi had the oppty to elevate our people and not use the "N" word but apparently they think that's how all AA speak to each other which is sad. Not 1 man in the entire film had screen appeal and their acting was cringey. Drew's sex scene was the only thing that demonstrated acting.

Props to Candi and Todd for making a "low budget" film through their respective companies. However, this is not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination. The "actors" seem like some attractive people who were plucked from the street and given roles, the storyline isn't cohesive, there is no character development, no arc, nothing. What irked me the most is that the whole movie is based on giving someone a "pass" in marriage to see other people, but there was absolutely no reason for this couple to come to this decision! They weren't having intimacy issues or romance issues. It made no sense to see other people just because the main character's mom is meddling in their lives! The whole setup for why they did it in the first place didn't make any sense, and it's what the whole movie is about!
While I think it's wonderful to support your community and people you like from TV, coming on here to give this movie a 10/10 and write things like "great plot and acting!" and "must see!! Keep them coming!" like you've never seen Fences or Set It Off or Brown Sugar, is not doing anyone any favors. Not the producers who may think this is actually worth watching, not the actors who will think they don't need to improve, and most certainly NOT the viewers who are expecting a half decent film. This movie is not good.
I can appreciate wanting to make a flim, but this is a prime example of "just because you have the means to, doesn't mean you should".

I was so eager to watch
this when it popped up in my feed on Peacock... But was very disappointed in the acting.... The storyline itself wasn't too bad but all in all it was not impressive. I will say out of all the characters Drew's was the best but even saying that I wasn't into it the way I thought I would be. Interesting twist/plot. I love me some Kandi but her acting in this was very weak and boring. Pretty much like the others. I have no ideal why they even cast Shemia in this. Good grief. I was really hoping I would like this tho since I'm a fan of RHOA so I wanted to see something good happen for Todd. I just wasn't impressed.
It was like a dry ass soft porno...1 star for effort, I just expected more. Of course their fan base will love it. The acting is horrible and the plot is ridiculous, I mean damn how many unnecessary twist and turns you want us to take. If you're gonna have that many sex scenes at least have some top tier acting to go with it. It was like I was watching something from the 90s. The cast members were dressed nice and I did not see any microphones in the wigs so it wasn't all bad I guess. I don't know seem like it was all over the place if they cut back on some of the twist and turns it would've possibly made more sense. My girlfriend was into it though.
