Foreclosure 2

Horrible plot/storyline, horrible writing, horrible acting, and horrible directing! I would call this film a stink bomb, but I am afraid the company that makes stink bombs would sue me for libel!

The flaws, where do I begin? First, they imply that this is a haunted NEIGHBORHOOD famous and overrun with rich people wanting to live there. Then they imply that the house is a veritable mansion when it is a small one family house. Then they state that the hauntings are known and accepted by everyone in the area! Then the dialogue is so wooden that one can predict it even before it is spoken, and the acting is so bad that it comes off even more artificially!

Having done marital counseling in my career I was aghast at how the couple was so mismatched and antagonistic towards each other from the first scene, Even the terrible in-laws were right out of a stereotypical comedy show!

The retired detective is so inept that he never thought to check out evidence until the dimwit writer suggests it and he supplies evidence to her that would not be shared with non-police personnel.

It is a storyline that middle school kids would write relying on TV Cop shows knowledge.

Just a side note, the male lead needs to see a doctor about having about a foot trimmed off his forehead!

Give this one a quick and hard PASS!!!!

Full disclosure - I have not seen the original, but with its rating, did this movie really warrant a sequel to begin with? The story is actually not bad, but it's the kind of thing that could have been done in a short story and it would have hit a lot better. This movie is slow throughout, even though it's just a little less than 80 minutes long. It's NOT a horror movie. It's not scary. The poster way oversells the genre this one has been put in. It's very dialog heavy. I've put this my reviews for a few movies, but if you like horror and you're wanting to watch a movie with someone that doesn't like horror, then maybe this is a good choice.

While I haven't watched the 2022 movie "Foreclosure", then I still opted to sit down and watch the 2024 movie "Foreclosure 2", as I had the opportunity to do so. Sure, I had never heard about this movie, nor the previous movie, but with it being a horror movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to check it out. I am a big fan of all things horror, after all.

I found the storyline in the movie to be boring and uneventful. Writers Brett Bentman and David Wagner failed to put together an interesting script and storyline, and thus there were nothing much to enjoy while suffering through the 77 minutes that the movie ran for.

The movie has a really small cast ensemble, all of which I was unfamiliar with. And that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching unfamiliar talents on the screen whenever I watch a movie. The acting performances in "Foreclosure 2" were actually fair, despite the fact that the actors and actresses virtually had nothing wholesome to work with.

The movie doesn't make use of special effects in an abundance, so there wasn't even special effects to lift up the movie.

The movie's cover/poster was actually the best thing about the ordeal.

My rating of director Brett Bentman's 2024 movie "Foreclosure 2" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.

I felt compelled to write this review because while this is a ghost story movie, that's not the real horror. The real horror is the main characters absolutely awful, emotionally and verbally abusive husband. I'm not sure if that was the intent but he makes it hard to watch the film. I keep wanting to yell at the main character to leave her husband because he's a terrible person.

I honestly didn't mind the movie. It's lower budget but the acting is decent. It definitely went in a direction I didn't expect. Was it great? Nope. But it wasn't bad.

No spoilers so I won't say more but if you do watch it, you will see that this man is being disgustingly verbally abusive from the outset and she just accepts his horrible behaviour, his put-downs, etc. I would have liked to see that addressed. Physical abuse is not the only kind of abuse and her husband humiliates her in front of someone in the first few minutes of the film and it doesn't stop there.
