WUSSTEST DU SCHON:
- WissenswertesLars Ulrich in an interview with Game Informer noted that the band stood up for the inclusion of the band Slayer against Microsoft's concerns on the explicit lyrical content of the group's songs. Alan Flores, lead designer for the game, noted that they had originally cleared Slayer's "Angel of Death" but had to pull it due at a late date to pressure on the song's background, instead, at the urging of Ulrich, successfully cleared "War Ensemble" and rushed to include it in the game.

Guitar Hero Metallica is a must-have for all music gamers and especially hardcore Metallica fans (like myself). It's a lot of fun to play no doubt about it. This game got everything dead-on. The style, the playability, loads of extra features, and most importantly, a very good selection of songs that Guitar Hero hasn't been doing the past few years. Don't get me wrong. There are good songs in the past Guitar Hero games but not enough to soothe the rock/metal beast within the soul of a rocker. However, Guitar Hero Metallica makes my metal beast very satisfied!
In Career mode, you began as the band, Metallica, marching into the sold-out arena swarm with loud applause and "Ectasy of Gold" blaring from every corner of the packed place and you begin playing "For Whom the Bell Tolls." In my opinion, this introduction is just simply fantastic! After the intro, the game begins starting with you, a member of a local band, that would like to go on tour with Metallica. Then the fun begins!
There are many great Metallica songs from "Kill'em All" to "Death Magnetic." All the classics! Also, the play list has over 20 guest acts including, Lynard Skynard, Mastadon, Judas Priest, Queen, Foo Fighters, Bob Segar, and many more.
Unlike "Guitar Hero Aerosmith", a pretty good music game but not satisfying to others, you can play more than one instrument. Similar to the previous "GH" game, "Guitar Hero World Tour", you can also perform as a guitarist, bassist, a vocalist, or a drummer. The drums are lots of fun but very challenging, There's even an extra difficulty for the drum set called "Expert+" and I got two words for the person that wants to give a go on that difficulty. Good Luck.
I also like how the list of songs in the Career mode are laid out. Just like the old "GH" games. Unlike, "World Tour" playing 3 or 4 songs in a row basically without breaks.
The only flaw about this game that I did notice, is in the Photo Gallery section located in the Bonus Materials. It seems there isn't a single photo of either Cliff Burton or Jason Newsted (former bassists of Metallica). Sure they do mention them in the "Metallifacts" feature but it just felt like they were just cropped out or erased from existence in the photo gallery. Secondly (here comes the inside-joke from the other "GH" bulletins that i posted), where's Graveyard BBQ!? They deserve it being on another "GH" game! Come on!
Overall, Guitar Hero Metallica is must-have for the young and old! Get it or Lars Ulrich will get you. Yeah you over there! Stop downloading "Enter Sandman"! Oh well. Anyways, Rock on!!!
