The App that Stole Christmas is a story about Felix Rhome, an inventor, who has created a super powerful App that eases the shopping craze during Christmas by the click of a button. His company Bomazon, with its powerful Christmas App, has become a Fortune 100 company, and he is the brains behind it. Although Felix is very proud of what he has created, and the success he has had financially, he gradually discovers that his App is ruining the spirit of Christmas. People have become so obsessed with the Bomazon Christmas App, that they hardly interact with one another. His own family is not immune to this behavior either, and his relationships with his wife, son, and father are suffering. As the story unfolds, Felix becomes a victim of his time-thieving app, and finds himself trapped in Santa's Village Resort. There he encounters a special elf named Ray, who encourages Felix to find the true spirit of Christmas through "presence not presents". After many ups and downs, Felix comes to realize that he needs to make changes in both his business and personal life. With this understanding, he rejoins his family, with a promise to focus on the goodness of Christmas, and spending quality time with his family.

Not very good

Running at just over an hour, this is more a TV special than a movie.

It has the right intentions (presence not presents) but it fails in its execution!

The acting, writing and story as a whole are very sub-par and with the dominance of the soundtrack feels more like a vehicle to promote/ sell the music.

I'd wait until you have seen every other film on your streaming service before you watch this.

I Can't Unsee This

My heavens. This was an absolute waste of fragmented, pointless time. I'm totally at a loss. From bad acting to pointless storyline. I WANTED to like this movie. I wanted to root for it to get better. But sadly that was not the case. The ending was truly a joke. Many missed opportunities to make this worthwhile!

At an hour in length, it was 60 minutes too long.

You would get more enjoyment counting 3,600 seconds out loud in a pitch black room and have used your time better.

No character development

I regret watching this movie. It was too fast and nothing was explained. Missing a lot of context makes a movie terrible. Dont recommend.

i am in a general state of confusion.

It's been over 12 hours since I've watched this movie and I'm still just as confused as I was when I first turned it on. The plot is scattered and there's a lot of scenes that didn't really need to be there. The movie is 63 minutes long, and they have unnecessary scenes. I think that speaks for itself.

The actors weren't bad. Santa made me audibly laugh a couple of times, and Ellen and Ben did great (even though a lot of their lines were awkwardly written). I love the black representation within the cast too, we love to see it.

Buttttt like I said, a lot of the skit was awkward. At one point, the kid says something like "I connected with my friends on the TikTok app", and, I'm sorry, but that's not how children talk. A lot of conversations felt forced and artificial, like the characters were bad NPCs or something. Also, they never explicitly say what the app is. Like, Felix orders Chinese food on it, Ben plays video games on it, you can get things shipped within *20 MINTUES???* on it? Did he create every app?? I don't even know!

Honestly, if someone asked me for a synopsis of this movie, I'd be stumped. It just feels like an fever dream. I'm sorry.
