Girls in White

The recent movie binging craze is fodder for fans of Lesbian Cinema, as this Girlfriends film kicks off two different series: the GIRLS IN WHITE tales of lesbian coming-out parties in the fictional town of Thornhill and THE THORNHILL DIARIES, a kind of groundbreaking meta-series which unites various other series in a mythos about this lesbian parallel world on the Left Coast.

Veronica Snow, a lesbian video icon and spokesperson for the label, came up with the storyline, but typically the director of GIW is uncredited. Series is not on-going, but the Diaries are.

I love the label's practice of a DVD cover photo for new series like this one (or LESBIAN LEGAL for example) to show the ensemble cast in a single shot, even though they have different episodes to be featured in. Snow herself stars her as an older lesbian much in love with Brea Bennett, and who wouldn't be? Brea (who in my mind I had confused with Bree Daniels, a starlet who competes with her for the same roles) is a perfect young woman, as beautiful as can be and seemingly without physical defect.

When the big party occurs, the other women make catty remarks about Snow, and at least one, Emilianna, makes a pass at the young girl. It is Snow, however, who gets to bed her, in a tasteful and glamorous opening vignette.

Second match-up has the exotic European star of many a Girlfriends saga, Nicole, paired with young Kelly. As usual, when things get hot and heavy between the two the fans have to swallow the fact that Kelly the actress seems mighty experienced in the Sapphic techniques while playing Kelly the virginal young thing.

The glamor trademark of the label is on view in the fabulous gowns worn by the entire cast and in the third segment the two youngsters making love keep their long white gloves on through most of the sex scene, only removing them when some heavy-duty fingering is in order.

Finale is something of a letdown in that instead of furthering the plot line and gaining momentum for a new series, the GIrlfriends honchos stray off into the world of kink, for sheer shock value.

Brunette Sahara, an unusual looking starlet that reminded me (from different angles) of both Sara Luvv and April O'Neil, is sub to Angela's dom in a hot and heavy bed scene. But Angela, who is clearly oversexed, lets flow with female ejaculations, the second series of which look straight out of some German fetish video.

In both the '70s movies and more recent Continental kink, Angela's effusions are known as Golden Showers. Here they are passed off as a female equivalent to a male's money shot, which they're not. When Angela tells Sahara "I wanna cum on your tits" not only is she going gonzo, but she stains the entire bed sheet and pillows in a fountain that is clearly a case of bed wetting. Sahara is paid to dig it, but I fail to understand how the humiliation intention of Golden Showers traditionally (and that's not a bad thing if you're into humiliation) has been transmogrified into some mythical female "cum".

Rather comically, Girlfriends Films features an end title card that offers a $10,000 reward to anyone proving a female ejaculation in one of their videos is "artificially contrived". That hollow offer misses the point entirely: artists like Angela, the label's own Deauxma or big stars like Cytherea and Jada Fire have a case of OAB that rather than treating with medications they have turned into a livelihood.
