Say, who does this lilac-lapeled embezzler Eddie Phillips think he is to ask Thelma out on a date? She has him come over to her apartment where her moral buddy Patsy is in slippers and cracking nuts with a small mallet, wagging her finger at Thelma for dating someone suspicious.

Then because she won't heed Patsy's advice that she had better dump this crook or else she'll be sorry, she makes them a limburger sandwich that not even the cat would eat. This makes me laugh so hard, I bust a gut! I bust TWO! Cuter than a pretty pink ribbon on a pretty pink button.

Then comes Benny Baker the Sailor Man (recall "Benny From Panama"?), ready to join them in for mixed doubles. They shift gears at the restaurant, where Patsy (after Thelma gives her a knock or so at the ankle) orders a smorgasbord they'd never be able to afford on their own salary.

Now, I'm no self-proclaimed film historian or anything like that... just your typical (or atypical depending on how much you like me) film whatdyacallits.... Enthusiasts? Is that the word? I can go on about the making of it and who was involved in the making of it, but why spoil your time when you could be using it to watch the frivolity yourself and have yourself a hootenanny with the ladies?
