- 1978. In the laboratory of the Thermonuclear Fusion Institute in Warsaw, the team of general Grzegorz Giedrowicz and professor Teresa Titko conducts a successful experiment of thermonuclear fusion. General Giedrowicz immediately calls the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party, Edward Gierek, and reports on the great success of Polish physicists. Satisfied, Gierek and Prime Minister Piotr Jaroszewicz are planning the next step - a trial thermonuclear explosion. 2010. Kornelia Titko receives a strange letter, addressed to her long-deceased mother, Professor Teresa Titko. The sender of the letter, who introduces himself as a forester, Stanislaw Wanio from Swietoszyn, claims that he knows why Kornelia's older sister and Teresa's second daughter, Jagoda, died. In a letter, he warns Teresa that she is in great danger. Surprised Kornelia calls the sender of the letter. A man, hearing that Professor Teresa Titko has been dead for many years, throws the receiver, opens the gas in the stove and lights a cigarette. Kornelia talks with her son Marcin about her sister's past death. Marcin makes her realize that he knows nothing about her. At the same time, a man burned in a gas explosion is brought to the hospital .

He talks to its owner, then asks his son Marcin to find out which hospital the burned man was transported to. At the hospital, Dr. Fijalkowski and the psychiatrist Henryk Wolf called by him talk to the burned man, who insists that it is August 1978 and does not recognize the Polish pope Wojtyla in the photo, claiming that the pope must be an Italian. He also says something about hunting in Swietoszyn and sings a strange song about an atomic bomb. At some point, doctors lose contact with him .
- 2010. Marcin is fed up with his mother's investigation and her behavior. Meanwhile, Kornelia does not give up. He follows the events of the past and of Jagoda's deceased sister, meets living participants of the bonfire in Swietoszyn. One of the visits draws someone's attention to her. Since then she has been followed, and the case from years ago turns out to be still absorbing the attention of the people involved. The police lieutenant, Bielik, takes over the investigation. Soon there is the first detention. However, the military counterintelligence wants to control the situation, Wolanska shows up with her own investigation team. The news of the events in the area where the thermonuclear test explosion was to be carried out reaches the authorities. Gierek is determined to find the culprit and punish him. Mróz and Wolanska find other suspects.

Wolanska suggests to Mróz that perhaps Wanio did not die, but hid for the years that passed, and now he has decided to take revenge on the lieutenant.

In 2010, the investigator, Commissioner Pastuszek, accuses Kornelia of participating in the disappearance of a man in bandages. Is he right? Meanwhile, he is hiding in a strange dacha by the lake. How did it get there and to whom does the property belong? Meanwhile, Kornelia finds the address of another living participant in the fire from years ago - censor Lisicki. He is also trying to reach the monk who, shortly before his death, was hearing confessions to her mother, and the policeman Bielik, who in the summer of 1978 investigated the circumstances of the tragedy in Swietoszyn. Kornelia still has no arguments to confront Wolanska and Mróz. And they seem to know the most about the deaths of those close to her. In 1978, subsequent events made Teresa realize that her hunches were right - these are not cases, but warnings. The leaders of the Polish People's Republic, Gierek and Jaroszewicz, see the situation in a similar way. Meanwhile, a surprising guest shows up at the Titek's house. The same one that Kornelia unexpectedly discovers in 2010. And this is only an introduction to Titko's new and terrifying discoveries .

In 2010, Kornelia talks with Maja about the death of her mother, Teresa Titko. Soon, her mother's missing file from the Institute of National Remembrance is handed over to her. Will the information contained therein shed new light on the circumstances of crimes in the past? Kornelia is unaware that both she and Marcin are in the game position. Frost receives a surprising invitation. The time of confrontation is getting closer. Another tragedy soon occurs that completely changes the course of Kornelia's investigation. The truth seems to be at hand. However, it comes at a cruel price.

- Kuba, a Warsaw-based cocaine dealer, buys two one-way tickets to get away from his current life. Before leaving, he has several things to deal with. Meanwhile, Dario, an old school gangster is just released from prison.
