Rebel Wilson is rising up the ranks to become a memoirist.
The multi-hyphenate has struck a deal with Simon & Schuster to publish a memoir titled Rebel Rising that will be rolled out globally in hardcover, ebook and audio on April 2, 2024. Wilson will narrate the audiobook.
The book will track her “unconventional journey” to finding success in Hollywood after growing up in Australia. She broke out with scene-stealing turns in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids and has built a resume that includes Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, How to be Single and What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

In recent years, she’s made headlines for testing her chops in dramatic fare, forays into music, becoming a producer and prepping her directorial debut. Her personal life has also provided inspiration for such a book as she came out after falling in love with a woman, battling weight and fertility issues and becoming a mother with the help of a surrogate. A press release announcing the book teases that Wilson will address all of the above as well the questions she’s faced of “Am I good enough?”, “Will I ever find love?” and “Will I ever change and become healthy?” Also promised: A Brad Pitt anecdote.
“This book is like me sitting down telling my deepest, darkest secrets to a friend with some laughs along the way of course,” Wilson explains. “So when it’s released, ‘my friend’ will become you.”
