Decking The Halls

I hope that everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving! We staid at home and enjoyed a quiet day. Not really much different from our normal Thanksgiving to be honest. I know that for some of you this year may have looked completely different but I hope that everyone found some joy in the day.

With Thanksgiving behind us it is time for decking the halls. I started a few weeks ago and have been dragging my feet to finish.

I am determined to finish most of it today though!

Laundry Room Makeover Part 3- Farmhouse Cottage Style

Today's post will bring y'all up to date on where I am at with our laundry room makeover. I will be honest I could have had this makeover completed earlier if I had just not dragged my feet. We thought that we were going to have issues with moving the washer and dryer down the wall. Our dryer was beyond a pain to hook up when we moved in and it took us hours to finally get it connected. We were so sure that we were going to have to disconnect it to move it so I avoided tackling this makeover something fierce. Well with the fridge sitting in the spot where our Christmas tree goes I knew I needed to just get the task over with so I could deck the halls come time. Turns out the dryer was a breeze to move with no issues at all! It is not often that things turn out way easier than expected when doing home improvements so it was a very welcomed surprise!

Here is a peek at the space with the new Peel & Stick faux tin wallpaper on the ceiling. On the list of things left to do is to add some type of crown molding.

To make for an easier install I ended up cutting the Peel & Stick into sections of 3 tiles. It enabled me to reposition and stay as straight as possible even though the ceiling/walls are not straight.

Laundry Room Makeover Part 2 Farmhouse Cottage Style

I started making over our laundry room back in August but never got around to sharing on here so yesterday I posted Part 1 of our laundry room makeover. Today I am going to pick up where I left off. There were so many pictures that I felt best to just share them in several different posts.

After I finished putting up the Peel & Stick Wallpaper...which actually is not wallpaper  but I will get to that in another post...I could not resist putting up my Wash & Dry Sign and a few other accessories just to see how it would all come together. I loved the cathedral window but ended up taking the metal scrollwork out because I felt it was too busy for the space. I also ended up not putting the sign there. Instead I added a faux beam wood topper to the window which you will see in another picture later on.

Laundry Room Makeover Part 1 Farmhouse Cottage Style

I noticed that my post Farmhouse Laundry Room Mini Makeover from way back in 2017 has been popular here of late.
Laundry Room Makeover Farmhouse Cottage Style-From My Front Porch To Yours
At the time I was not ready to do a full makeover so all I did was change out the paint color of the space.

As you can see paint makes such a huge difference just by itself!

Easy DIY Faux Jadeite Ornaments

Whose already decking the halls? I am! Over the past few weeks I have been pulling my Christmas decor out in anticipation for the most wonderful time of year. I have also been doing a lot of crafting
for this holiday season.

Easy Faux Jadeite Ornaments-From My Front Porch To Yours
With my love for jadeite and wanting to add to my jadeite collection but not wanting to spend a lot of money last year I attempted to make some jadeite colored ball ornaments for Christmas, the ones where you just squirt the craft paint in the ornament and swoosh it all around. I loved the idea but in the end they mostly turned out to be a hot mess with peeling paint and what not so I never shared. A definite Pinterest fail! LOL.

This year I spied some jadeite colored milk glass ornaments that I fell in love with but with not wanting to spend $13 an ornament my DIY brainstorming began. I would post a pic of my inspiration but I do not want to get fussed at from the company that makes them. Once you see what I came up with you may know which ornaments caught my eye.

Fun Vintage Halloween Christmas Tree

Today I am sharing our fun Halloween Tree. I do not normally decorate for Halloween per say. Thru out the years I will add a little touch of it here and there but never anything large scale. Not that I do not find plenty of cute Halloween decorations. I do! The problem is that with Halloween decor Christmas decor always comes out in stores as well and honestly Christmas decorations win out every time!!:) I have though grabbed a few things here and there over time. I went thru it all and decided that I had enough to create a fun Halloween Tree.

I have a few slender trees that I leave up all year because it is just easier than taking them down and dragging them upstairs of the garage. We have one up in our dining room which I decorated with fall which if you missed it you can click here and view our dining room fall tour. Then there is this one by our breakfast nook/living room.

Farmhouse Cottage Style Fall Front Porch

Welcome to our fall porch for 2020! I have to say it was kinda tricky trying to get some decent pictures to share. Every time I tried the sun was shining in the wrong place. I always seemed to miss the optimal time.

This year I created our fall porch in stages. Adding something new over the last few weeks.

The sunflower wreaths are from Home Depot this year and were only $15! You can't make them for that price so in our cart they hopped. The architectural pieces are from Ragon House. I put up grapevine garland around the windows with fairy lights added every where. I purchase my grapevine garland from Hobby Lobby with a coupon. It is a huge pain to put up but in the end well worth it!

Farmhouse Cottage Fall Fireplace Mantel

The windows are open and a cool breeze is blowing so I thought that it was the perfect time to share our fall fireplace for this year. It actually started out as something totally different but I ended up redoing it because I didn't want to haul back up to the garage some of the decor. LOL.

I kept it fairly simple. Just placed the leaf wreath along with some of my favorite flameless candles and stacked pumpkins that I chalk painted.

Farmhouse Cottage Style Fall Dining Room

Welcome to our fall dining room for this year! I am really loving how it turned out. The only thing I purchased new for this year were the supplies to make the fall tree. Everything else was acquired thru the years. There are those who can go out and purchase all new but I like the challenge of creating something new with what I already have...most of the time. LOL.

Of course the star of the show is the reproduction bread makers cabinet. This is the first fall with it. We purchased it locally right after Thanksgiving last year.

Farmhouse Cottage Style Fall Foyer

Fall temperatures are arriving this upcoming week and I could not be more than ready! I am glad that I have all of our fall decor out. It will add to the coziness of the season. Today I will be sharing our fall foyer. I added a little bit of whimsy to it this year.

A DIY Fall Tree Tutorial

Have you seen those gorgeous fall trees online from various companies? They have been around for years. I have always admired them but have never wanted to pay the price for one. Just one tree can cost anywhere from $70-$175 depending on where you purchase it from.
DIY Fall Tree Tutorial-FromMy Front Porch To Yours
This year I decided to make my own fall tree for a fraction of the cost! I actually made three trees for less than $85!

DIY Fall Tree Tutorial-FromMy Front Porch To Yours
First you will need to purchase a bundle of birch sticks or whatever they are called. I found them at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas decor under the bows. They come in a bundle of 3. I paid $14 for the bundle because they were half off at the time. You need to wait for the sales because that is what makes the trees so affordable!

Touches of Fall Cottage Farmhouse Style

Has it begun to cool down where you are? We were hoping for cooler weather last week but it never arrived. Alas it looks as if our weather will be taking a dip this upcoming week though. I am ready for the cooler fall temps to come and play.
These past few weeks I have been busy adding touches of fall to our home. Today I am sharing the little open shelving area in our breakfast nook.

A French Farmhouse Late Summer Dining Room

With September here my favorite time of the year has come. I always enjoy fall and the holidays! As I was sitting and pondering what to come up with for fall decorating I realized I never finished sharing our lemon themed summer dining room so before I start taking it apart I made sure to take pics to share with y'all. I will also be doing a LIVE tour over on Instagram sometime this week so be sure to stop on by over there for a different view of the space. I will also be sharing where I found some of my decor.

Patriotic Porch Decor

Happy Fourth of July!
It amazes me that the year is already half over.
Patriotic- Porch- Decor-DIY-Bows-From My Front Porch To Yours
Though my decorating is limited due to staying home I try and make sure our front porch is inviting. This year I made some patriotic bows for our porch lights.

Front Yard DIY Garden Landscape Project

I found the most beautiful hanging baskets when shopping for groceries back in April. I could not pass them up. There were exactly five and thus started a project that I had been wanting to work on forever.
Front -Yard -Garden-Hanging-Basket-Project-From My Front Porch To Yours
We have a detached garage. The garage technically is in our backyard but the fence line starts at the garage on that side of our thus making for a long driveway. In turn it makes for an expansive fence line between our neighbors and us. I would love to have a bed put in going down the length of the fence but unfortunately that is not possible due to the utility lines that lie on our side of the fence.

Backyard Garden Makeover

Backyard Garden Makeover-From My Front Porch To Yours

It was always our intention to connect the individual flower beds to make them larger. With all the time on my hands and the beautiful weather we had in the spring I got busy transforming this small area.

Flowerbed Update Because I Kill Plants

Remember last year when I created a little flowerbed on the side of house underneath our breakfast nook windows?
It was one of the few projects I was able to do last year and it made me so happy. I love hydrangeas to pieces but alas they do not love me back. I have had almost zero luck keeping them alive. Sadly these beauties died and the bed was looking pitiful.

Cottage Style Easter Front Porch

We have been having some beautiful weather here in SE Tx this week so I got outside and redid our porch decor. I put away all the Easter and pulled together a Spring porch. It could actually stay thru summer but I probably will change it up again for the 4th of July.

Front Door Project

Have y'all been going stir crazy as well? I am normally a homebody but the fact that I can not go somewhere has me wanting to go every where!:) I have been behaving though and coming up with little projects to keep me busy.
