  1. Bisector
One who, or that which, bisects; esp. Geom a straight line which bisects an angle.
Century Dictionary and Cyclopedia
  1. (n) bisector
A line drawn through the vertex of a triangle so as to bisect either the opposite side (bisector of the side) or the angle (bisector of the angle, or internal bisector), or to bisect the external angle formed by the adjacent sides (external bisector). Thus, in the figure, ABC being the triangle, AD is the bisector of the side BC; AE is the internal bisector, and AF the external bisector, of the angle A.
Usage in the news

A chord, radius, and perpendicular bisector used to illustrate how to find an equation for unknown values. forbes.com

Usage in scientific papers

Now we define the bisector at t = 0 in terms of this angle and this middle point.
Limits of Voronoi Diagrams

We have already computed the equations for the two bisectors in Example 4.28.

But in this case, ˜V ([c]) consists just of two parallel bisectors perpendicular to αc .
Limits of Voronoi Diagrams

From a3 = ψDAn ([c]) we can determine the order of the three points on the line, which gives us the labels of the bisector.
Limits of Voronoi Diagrams

The perpendicular bisector B (pi , pj ) is the line through b(pi , pj ) perpendicular to the angle αij = αij (γn ).
