    (Naut) On or towards the port or left side; -- said of the helm.

  1. aport
    Nautical, to or on the port side of a ship, as in the phrase hard aport. Hard aport! as a command, instructs the helmsman to turn the tiller to the left or port side of the ship, thus causing the ship to swerve to the right or starboard.
