ORIGIN
Dami Im is a pop singer and songwriter. She was born to parents Dong-Eal and Hae-Yun on October 17, 1988 in South Korea. She has a younger brother named Kenny. Im moved to Australia at age 9. She excelled at the piano while studying at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Queensland and her Masters at Griffith University.

CAREER
Im’s first project, Dream, was released in 2010. She competed and won the fifth season of ‘The X Factor Australia’ in 2013. She signed to Sony Music Australia and released her self-titled debut album on November 15, 2013. The album’s lead single “Alive” peaked at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart. Her second album, Heart Beats, was released in 2014. It spawned the singles “Super Love” and “Gladiator”. Im’s third album, Classic Carpenters, was released in April 2016 by Sony Music Australia. The album peaked at #3 on the ARIA Charts.

Im represented Australia at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. She performed the song “Sound of Silence”, which was written by Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci. She finished as runner-up behind Ukraine’s Jamala. Im collaborated with Jack Jones on the 2017 single “Hold Me in Your Arms”. She was named ‘Club Performer of the Year’ and ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2017 Australian Club Entertainment Awards.
