Tasnim Alam
Tasnim Alam was born in Birmingham, England and moved over to America while still a toddler. After eleven years of education in the outskirts of Philadelphia, she flew back to England with her extended family. She stayed in Birmingham for a period of almost three years for her secondary school life and then moved to Gloucestershire, where she currently lives, doing her A-Levels.

Halima Bibi—without whose watchful eye—these words would have never been written. The girl, who watched over as I wrote my lyrics, gave the odd opinion here and there. Without her personality, her entire being, I doubt that I’d be The person I am today.
Salma Akhtar—her attentiveness at the Birmingham’s Young Laureate Short Listing Event gave me the confidence, the belief that I actually had a talent. Even though anyone who knows me will know that I can literally speak for England, I didn’t always used to be like this. Moving back to the place in which I was born after eleven years was daunting, there were people I knew, people I didn’t know. But I quickly made friends at Park View and they were amazing.
