Bushcraft 101 - Calvin Hale
Introduction
If you are ever stuck out in the bushcraft, you want to make sure that you are going to be able to make it through. With modern technology and the way of life for many people, it is doubtful that most would be able to survive out in the wilderness anymore. But with the help of this guidebook you will be able to learn all of the tips and tricks that you need in order to survive no matter where you get stranded.
Chapter 1 is going to talk about what you should do when you get stranded. First, you need to make sure that someone knows where you are. If you plan to go out hiking or are going on a trip, let others know the route you are taking and when you plan to make your destination. This makes it easier for someone to know when you are lost, to know where to look, and to come and find you. Chapter 2 will help you to determine where you are located. If you did not follow the rules in the first chapter, you may be on your own for figuring out the location you need to go. You can use this chapter to make a compass and get to the proper location like a town or other place to get help.
Chapter 3 is going to discuss how to make a quick shelter. If you are going to spend any amount of time in the bushcraft, you need to have a shelter. This shelter is going to help you to keep warm and to protect you from the elements. This chapter will discuss some of the best and easiest ways you can make a shelter to keep safe. Chapter 4 then spends a bit of time discussing water. You will need plenty of water to stay healthy and hydrated when you are in the bushcraft and it is easy to lose water quickly. This chapter will help you find some safe sources of water and the best ways to purify your water so you stay safe.
Learning how to make a good fire is critical if you want to have a chance of surviving in the wilderness. A good fire will keep you warm, keep animals away, help you to purify your water, and can help you to cook the food you come across. Chapter 5 discusses some of the different methods you can use in order to make the proper fire depending on the weather and how long you would like it to last.
Chapter 6 will talk about some of the methods you can use in order to get food for survival. While you can go for a bit of time without food, you must find food if you are going to be out in the wild for some time. This chapter will discuss fishing, hunting, and trapping as means to get the food you need to stay alive. Chapter 7 finishes out this guidebook with some different tips for any kind of weather and
