      Did you know Rio de Janeiro means 'River of January'? On the 1st of January 1502, the Portuguese rulers arrived in Rio’s Guanabara Bay. They afterwards named the City in reference to that Month; January, and the ‘river’ they had used. It was a way of keeping track of such an important feat. Later, Rio de Janeiro would serve as the capital of the Portuguese rulers; housing the
