written by Lakisha Marie Mackie.
The choices we make lead us to where we are.
Dear fifteen-year-old Lakisha Marie Mackie,
I know life right now is kind of rough with school and just life. But I can tell you this—we made it! We did something that we always wanted to do. Something that was always at the top of our list to do, but we were scared to do it. We became a published author in 2017 with our first book, The Truth You Didn't Know, which is a book about our life story. We did it! Our dreams of becoming an author have come true. That family member who told us nobody will publish our books—guess what? Somebody did. Somebody gave us a shot. We are where we want to live. Yeah, we still had our problems with money, boyfriends, religions, our parents, but we made it. We worked very hard to get where we are today. We have a kid now too. A little boy. I know—shocking, right? LOL! And a man too. We are so very happy right now in our life. We have books out, hoping they are helping those who are reading them. Working on other projects as well. So don't worry no more, fifteen-year-old Lakisha Marie Mackie. 'Cause we made it.
Dreams
Be willing to make your dreams bigger then you. Be willing to write your dreams down and make them come true. Be willing to work hard to make your dreams come true. Be willing to be scared to make your dreams come true. Be willing to do all you can to make your dreams come true. Be willing to work hard, sweat, and be broke to make your dreams come true. Be willing to travel, share a meal, make new friends to make your dreams come true. Be willing to take meetings out of town to make your dreams come true. Be willing to take more phone calls, emails, texts, advertising, marketing, and investing to make your dreams come true. Be willing to be up way past bedtime to make your dreams come true. Be willing to get up way early in the morning before the sunrise to make your dreams come true. Be willing to move to a different state around new people and new surroundings
