About this ebook
Warning: This novella contains excessive humor, second chance romance, naughty grannies ready to throw down, and an unfortunate pair of panties that have been known to ruin lives. Please proceed with caution.
Sweet, sassy, and way too good for him, Kinsley Wentworth is the only woman Chase Thorn has ever wanted since the first time he stumbled upon her swimming in the creek that separated his grandparents farm from her family’s in their small town of Grafton Hills.
Years of staying away has done nothing to dispel his feelings. But when he finally returns home, will the two of them get the chance to let old sparks fly, or will shadows from their pasts keep them apart once again.

Being an author was always a dream of mine, one that seemed far reaching and unattainable, and then one day I decided to shoot for the stars and I'm glad I did. I have discovered things about myself during this process and absolutely love what I do. I get to share my stories and pieces of myself with people across the world, and I couldn't be happier. When I'm not writing, you can find me singing, dancing, or yelling at one of my favorite sports teams on the TV. That is, when I'm not cooking, chasing after my toddler, or toting my two girls off to one sport or another.

Grandma and Great-Grandma…
This one’s for you.
May I one day be lucky enough to be as funny and sweet as the two of you.
Until we meet again
Prologue
Ten years earlier…
Fighting her way through rows of tables and chairs and strings of twinkling lights, Kinsley Wentworth unlocked the low swinging gate and escaped into the patch of forest just beyond the big barn.
Making her way by memory and moonlight alone, she eventually found refuge in her childhood tree house, the aging wood planks and dried leaves that had gathered in the corner capturing her sigh of frustration, but also relief.
When her parents had announced that this year’s Blossom Bash would be held on their family farm instead of in the town square like usual, Kinsley had very nearly had a stroke. Because planning to skip an event when it was in town was one thing––not that she’d divulged such plans to her parents or anyone other than her best friend––but when said event was literally being held in a person’s back yard, well….
Kinsley looked around the tree house once more and couldn’t help but smile.
At least out here I know all the best hiding places.
And a place to hide was exactly what she needed thanks to her ex, Tristen, and the band of brainless baboons he called his friends. Even now, in the solitude of her childhood hang out, she could hear the merry band of idiots hooting and hollering, laughing it up––mostly at her expense––by the bonfire that was positioned only a couple hundred yards due north of her current location.
She must have tried and failed a hundred times to convince her mom to let her skip this year’s bash, but Helen Wentworth was hearing none of it.
"Our community has never let us down, which means we will not let them down. So, whatever it is that has your panties in a twist, suck it up, because we’ve got work to do."
Now, with her mother’s words and the guilt they brought swirling around inside her head and the walls of what had once felt like a larger-than-life-fortress, but now was nothing but a tiny, drafty box closing in on her, Kinsley collapsed in the closest corner and let herself do the one thing she’d promised her best friend, Melody, she would never do again when it came to her ex.
She cried.
Knees pulled to her chest, sweatshirt hood up, face buried against bony knobs covered in denim, Kinsley unleashed half a year’s worth of unshed tears in record time. Maybe if she’d had the guts to tell her parents what had been going on all year at school, they would have been more sympathetic to her cause, but every time she’d tired, the humiliation had taken over and she’d chickened out.
After all, what kid in their right mind wanted to confess to their parents that a boy she’d refused to sleep with had snapped a picture out of spite of the embarrassing pair of panties her wacky great-grandma had given her and shown them to every guy in their grade plus some?
The real question, though, was who even had the idea to make underwear that looked like a realistic apple in the first place. Especially ones where the core was strategically placed dead center on the ass? The market for such a thing had to have been smaller than her ex’s dick, but she digressed.
And since she hadn’t seen any other alternative to her mother’s demands, Kinsley had done her best to do as her mom had said and sucked it up. What she hadn’t fully thought about was how being a part of an entire festival dedicated to all thing’s apple would only feed the moronic machine that was the teenage boy.
It wasn’t until she’d finally managed to pull everything back to a few random hiccups and sniffles that she noticed the sound of small branches snapping in the distance.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, forcing her
