INTRODUCTION
Single parenting is the practice of raising and parenting children without involving another adult in the process. But the reality of single parenthood
differs from culture to culture.
Single parents can be the result of voluntary choice. Women who choose to have a child by artificial insemination or become pregnant out of wedlock, single people who adopt children, or whose parents are widowed, divorced, or simply abandoned by their husbands are all single parents. However, the circumstances of their single parenthood can affect their children as much, if not more, than their efforts to be a single parent.
