    A NOTE FROM THE

    Author

I’ve always loved devotionals. When I was in high school, I relished reading Dr. Martin De Haan’s devotional called, Our Daily Bread. His succinct but profoundly rich take of simple Scripture verses; coupled with practical life applications, have made De Haan’s booklet so endearing to me as well as to million others who seek inspiration from this type of Christian literature. Another devotional that I love to use in my meditation is the one written by Oswald Chambers entitled, My Utmost For His Highest. Chambers’ deep and provocative thoughts about God and His character always leave me wanting more.

I wrote my first devotional in 2017. It was entitled ‘From Golgotha to Glory." In it, I meditated on the faith and life lessons that I gleaned from the death and resurrection of Jesus. Although, it was a brief 10 day devotional, yet, many of those who have read it were nonetheless, impacted and inspired by it. And because of that, it motivated me to try to write another devotional based on the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Spurred by spiritual enrichment I found writing about the cross of Jesus, I decided to write another devotional. This time, I focused on the Lord’s glorious incarnation and human birth. Writing a 31-day devotional was no easy task. It was nerve wracking, to say the least, just as it was also the most rewarding spiritually. My prayer and eager expectation is that you will be enlightened and inspired in this devotional. I invite you to also meditate on these truths that I have shared in these pages. And more than that, make them come alive in your daily walk with Him who is called Emmanuel. Have a blessed and joyous Christmas!
