Introduction
Hello and Welcome to the Amazing Arsenal Quiz!
Here are 608 specially selected questions to test your memory, tease your brain, and heighten your appreciation of one of England’s most powerful football clubs.
Arsenal have a rich and storied history, but, in football, as with life, we often wonder.
What might have happened?
What if pivotal events had turned out differently?
What if Arsenal had been crowned European Champions in 1972 and 2006?
What if John Barnes had retained possession in the dying moments of the unforgettable title decider in 1989?
What if the bespectacled football anorak Wenger had stayed in Japan in 1996?
The briefest of moments contain the power to change everything.
Of course we can’t go back in time but, included at the back of this book, you will find a selection of alternative versions of history for Arsenal FC.
You should read the version that best matches your performance.
If you get most of the questions wrong, then you should take a glimpse of an awful Arsenal reality.
If, on the other hand, you get most of the questions right, why not catch sight of an even more awesome version of Arsenal reality!
Astounding success or abject failure? What calibre of Arsenal history will your answers achieve?
One thing’s for sure, this book has been designed for you to build a strong knowledge base of the most important people and events in the history of this famous old side.
The more you read this book, the more you will impress with your devotion and insight into what makes the Gunners the most prestigious and traditional London club.
Up the Arsenal!
Why A Quiz?
As soon as I settle down into a quiz, I feel naturally relaxed. It’s like I can just shut a door on the outside world and be in my own zone, testing my memory, and teasing my brain.
I love the feeling of getting the answer right and now I time myself so it’s even more challenging.
I used to suffer from stress. A friend recommended I try quizzes so I did. Soon I find myself being able to retain information better, and focus on details more. I am glad I found quizzes. I do one every day now. Rain or shine.
As you grow older in life, it pays to keep your brain sharp, and stave off dementia and diseases such as Alzheimer’s. Most elderly people report a failing memory. Memory loss can be as simple as forgetting where you put your keys to as serious as not knowing what day or even year it is.
Doing a quiz is a medically proven activity that helps you develop a strong memory. This is achieved by the ability of a quiz to reinforce existing connections between your brain cells.
With a healthy brain, you are in the best cognitive position to be in for your old age.
For young students - as the brain grows - it is highly beneficial to encourage the building of strongly and improved neural networks as quizzes do.
Quizzes ensure the right attitude of fun towards learning. Quizzes are highly valued in top educational institutions as one of the best ways to engage students and enable learning in a fun way.
Quizzes can also help build confidence in your own ability to learn, and build motivation by immersing the learner in their chosen subject.
Those who do quizzes like this one from a very young age can expect to experience better performance in education, and an increased IQ.
In times of lockdown, a quiz is a way to keep your spirits and those of your family and friends high.
Doing a quiz, the participant has to think, dig deep, and, ultimately, be active.
So old Gooner or young Gunner, let the Arsenal learning fun begin!
