T he Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran was born in the Holy City of Mashhad, in the Province of Khorasan on July 16, 1939. Sayyid Ali was the second son of Sayyid Javad Khamenei (RA) ¹─a humble Islamic scholar who taught all members of his family how to lead a simple and humble way of life.
