ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I would like to thank my wife Trevina Lashun Davis for 28 years of marriage and my two beautiful children Wendell, Jr. and Wenikka Davis for all of their love and support. I’m especially grateful to my grand mother Pearlie Woodard who taught me my moral and ethical principals about marriage, family and GOD. We called her MaDear, my mother’s mother. MaDear was married to my grand father Cleave Woodard for 53 years, she laid the foundation for me as a family man, husband, father and Christian man, I would not be who I am today as a man had it not been for my MaDear. I thank my father Wardell J. Davis for teaching me how to be a man, a giver and supporter, a hard worker, self-employed and how to take care of my family. I must say down through the years GOD has been faithful to me and I owe my life to Him. I would like to thank Special Friend for taking the time to edit and assist me with the format of this project, I really appreciate you Friend and your time that you have shared with me for this project. It is my prayer that this book will be a blessing unto the Body of Christ and anyone that will come into contact with this literature that GOD will manifest Himself in their marriage and family, and that they will be renewed, refreshed and refocused on their commitment to family, love and support of one another. I would like to thank the many, many different families and couples that have entrusted me as their counselor for their family and/or marriage, I appreciate you and it is my prayer that I have helped to make a difference in your life. I also thank GOD for the Vision and success of Trinity In His House Foundation, which provides housing, counseling and mentoring to families. The Body of Christ is suffering from high divorce rates, broken homes, dysfunctional families and abandonment, it is my prayer that this book will help hold a family together by what they can learn from reading. A Special thank you to my Administrator Keisha McNeal for completing the corrections on editing for me. I would like to also thank GOD for my beautiful grand daughter Lyric Amore
who was born during the time of my writing, and I pray that as I strive to leave a legacy for her, she will be blessed, inspired and encouraged from my writings.
Thank you
FOREWORD
As a child growing up I was a huge fan of the theme song from Mighty Mouse. The lyrics boasted here I come to save the day.
With the divorce rate amongst Christians rivaling those outside the church as Wendell Davis, PH.D writes there no longer seems to be much stigma attached to divorce; it is now seen as an unavoidable rite of passage
, Davis, while nothing mousey about him comes to save the day by painstakingly addressing this and other family related issues. Not since Willard Harley’s His Needs, Her Needs has there been a directed focus on saving the family and marriages. Beyond relationships, Davis dives into the role religion and spirituality play in families. He asks what are the biblical teachings about behavior of family?
How do families deal with jealousy as Joseph encountered from his brothers in Genesis 37. Yet, more than asking questions, Wendell Davis offer up results and resolutions. He challenge couples, families, leaders, and the reader to see the healing marital therapy can provide and not to hide from such. Informative, insightful, and
