      James had not been looking forward to spending the holidays with his family. They were short-sighted and their constant judgement of his decisions made them hard to get along with. However, they were still family and seeing that he had nowhere else to be, he chose to travel up county to be with them. Besides, he wouldn’t hear the end of it if he didn’t make an appearance. He’d made the mistake once and got an earful from his grandmother who had a skill for relaying the harshest of criticisms in not so flowery words.
