INTRODUCTION
Have you ever wanted to travel through South America or Spain but didn’t do it because you don’t speak Spanish? Most people see language learning as a scaring or daunting activity, especially adults who have tried to, perhaps in school but, failed to continue.
Travelling to another country without knowing the basics of its language, even when the internet tells us that everyone speaks English
, always presents risks. Therefore, it is important to be able to communicate in basic Spanish to enjoy your travels.
The following book is a practical and comprehensive guide to learning conversational Spanish. The focus of this book is tourism and its target audience are people who speak little or no Spanish.
This book consists of 6 units, each of them focus on a different topic needed for traveling. Their level of difficulty will increase from unit to unit, but the structure of the book will be the same. All of these units contain lessons, after all of these lessons there will be a unit review which will consist of longer scenarios and exercises.
Each lesson will begin with a short introduction that will explain the usefulness and cultural significance of the lessons as well as to give the context on how to use it with examples of scenarios.
Following the introduction and core of the lesson, we will have a vocabulary review. We will go over the words and their meaning and repeat the phrases we just learned.
We understand that many adult learners find language learning difficult because they cannot pronounce certain words correctly. This is why this audiobook comes with a pronunciation section. We will, once again, go over the expressions learned and practice the pronunciation of the most difficult words, so you can be sure you sound like a fluent speaker.
The first unit will be short and deal with basic language structure. Here, we will go over some Spanish articles and the verb to be
. This will help you form simple sentences and communicate effectively. In this unit we will also go over the sounds of the Spanish vowels as our first pronunciation lesson.
Following this unit, we will continue with greetings and basic introductions, through this unit you will go through lessons what will help you interact with other people you meet. From hotel clerks to taxi drivers, you will have to interact with Spanish speaking people to be able to get things or go places.
The third unit will focus on teaching you how to express the fact that you don’t speak a lot of Spanish. So you will learn how to ask people to either speak English, speak more slowly or even find someone who can translate for you. This unit is extremely helpful because it will save you
