“My dad was born and raised in Peru, and a lot of his family still lives there. It’s hard to get good information about his family history. My grandparents were originally from close to Arequipa. I’ve heard there is some Incan Indian in the family, too.

“We tested my daughter, so her results would give us information about both myself and my husband. In her 23andMe results, Arequipa shows up as a Recent Ancestor Location, and so do other areas in southern Peru that could be where my family lived previously. Interestingly, my daughter does show 11.4% Indigenous American ethnicity.”
