28 Then he said, ⁱ“Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel,¹ for ^jyou have striven with God and ^kwith men, and have prevailed.”

10 And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; ^mno longer shall your name be called Jacob, but ⁿIsrael shall be your name.” So he called his name Israel.
