    This district stands out with its unique grid-like street pattern and wide boulevards, designed by urban planner Ildefons Cerda in the 19th century. Eixample boasts a rich tapestry of Modernista architecture, with Gaudi’s gorgeous Casa Batllo and Casa Mila only minutes from the hotel on foot, and his masterpiece La Sagrada Familia 20 minutes away. It’s also fantastic for shopping, with high-end fashion stores lining Passeig de Gracia and Rambla de Catalunya.

    La Rambla

    Taking a stroll down La Rambla is an absolute must when visiting Barcelona. It’s the city’s most iconic street – a largely pedestrianised boulevard stretching 1.2km from the Columbus Monument to the Plaça de Catalunya. It can get rather crowded, especially in peak season, but the great thing is that there are plenty of quieter side streets to be explored all the way along when you feel the need for a breather. You can get there in 15 minutes on foot from the hotel, or in five minutes using the Metro.

    Parc Güell

    When it comes to the work of renowned architect Antoni Gaudi, you’re spoilt for choice in Eixample, but this eccentric park in the north of the city is well worth a visit too. This surreal delight, adorned with colourful mosaics, whimsical sculptures, lush gardens, and a breathtaking view of the city, is just 20 minutes away by Metro.
