The Shane's Castle Railway

The Shane's Castle Railway was a narrow (3ft) gauge line within the Shane's Castle estate to the west of Antrim town. It opened, as a tourist attraction, in May 1971 using rescued steam and diesel locomotives and ex-County Donegal Railways railcars. Some of the coaches were built locally and some were former Belgian trams. The line closed in 1995. The estate is no longer open to the public.
