Mar's Wark

The ruin, which stands on the west side of Mar Place, was built c.1570 by John Erskine (Earl of Mar and latterly Regent of Scotland) as a seat of the Erskine family. See LinkExternal link (at Canmore) for a detailed description, the listing details at LinkExternal link for a summary of the remains, and LinkExternal link (at Historic Scotland) for the history of the building.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
