Solomon's Knot

Solomon's Knot (sometimes also called Swastika Pelta) is a form of Medieval graffiti found in churches across Europe. An ancient symbol found in 4th century Roman mosaics, it seems to have been adopted by the Christian church as an apotropaic motif. The endless knot attracts demons to its flowing lines and they become trapped within the symbol as it has no end.
