All Saints' church, Greetwell

All Saints Church at Greetwell is a Grade II* listed parish church dating from C11, late C13, late C14 and was heavily restored in C19. The church is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with plain tiled roofs with decorative red ridge tiles. The church consists of a west tower, nave with south porch and an apsidal chancel. The north side of the apse has an early C13 tombstone reset and inscribed "Hic Jacet Adanz de London Quandam Rectoristius ecclesiac cujus aizinzae propeihir Deus".
The south wall of the nave has a square opening containing a piscina and the C13 font was heavily restored in C19. There are various C18 & C19 monuments in the floor and on the walls and the pews are from C20.

During the 1899 restoration the seats and lectern were removed and replaced by new ones; the floor was taken up, six inches of soil dug out and the floor then replaced; the chancel was enlarged and raised and new windows added. Cannon Arthur Sutton of Brant Broughton crafted the windows. The centre window depicts the Resurrection; on the north side are the arms of the Dalyson family (long time residents here); and on the south side are the arms of England & France.

The organ was originally used at the Minster Song School and there have been various and many improvements made to the church over the years since electricity was installed.
