The tiny hamlet of Orthwaite is on the low level route of The Cumbria Way long distance path. Beyond is Overwater, the northernmost lake in the Lake District National Park and a source of drinking water for northwest Cumbria. The small fell in the background is Latrigg, one of several similarly named fells in the Lake District.
