Geograph - photograph every grid square

The photo looks from the beach toward the former Auchmithie Hotel, and in so doing it shows the dramatic setting of Auchmithie with features that include the shore, steep maritime slopes, a gorge, and clifftops. The photo shows features that includes both the physical landscape and some human aspects, including the former Auchmithie Hotel and The Outlook, both of which are situated on the clifftop. Both these buildings afford panoramic views east-southeast toward the shore and the sea beyond, but additionally to the southwest they give views of the steep-sided gorge that has formed downstream of the waterfall and inland of the buildings by the beach.
