NM3125 : Kintra Harbour, Ross of Mull

taken 13 years ago, near to Kintra, Isle of Mull, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

Kintra Harbour, Ross of Mull
Kintra Harbour, Ross of Mull
This natural harbour, at the north-west corner of the Ross of Mull and just a short distance north of Fionnphort, is seen here from Dun I, the highest spot on Iona. Dun I carries a Vanessa trig point, a circular form which is common in the Highlands of Scotland because it required much less weight of concrete to be carried up the hills.

The hills of the Ardmeanach peninsula are seen in the distance on the left: see NM4129 : The hills of Ardmeanach for those hills from the opposite direction.
