NY3440 : Water trough beside The Cumbria Way

taken 11 years ago, near to Hesket Newmarket, Cumbria, England

Water trough beside The Cumbria Way
Water trough beside The Cumbria Way
The cattle trough in a field below Parkhead is fed by a spring. Water from the spring runs across the adjacent path which is the route of The Cumbria Way (next photograph NY3440 : The Cumbria Way below Parkhead).
Officially The Cumbria Way follows the public bridleway from Caldbeck to Sebergham Bridge further up the hillside on this section, but the path adopts a more southerly route avoiding rough ground and scrub encountered by the bridleway.
The Cumbria Way

A 119km (74 mile) long distance path from Ulverston to Carlisle, through the heart of the English Lake District.
