Small Nettle (Urtica urens)
Yes, there is more than one kind of nettle. Small Nettle is, as its name suggests, not as tall as its commoner cousin, and its leaves are smaller but have relatively larger teeth, and it packs quite a sting. It flowers in spring - you can see some tiny inconspicuous greenish flowers near the top of the stem - while common Nettles bear brown flowers in late summer.
