taken 6 years ago, 3 km from Gibraltar, Lincolnshire, England
Low tide at the mouth of the Steeping River
A short walk from the beach access at Gibraltar Point takes you to the river mouth. Today thankfully, the north bank is south enough to permit standing on the solid ground instead of having to get wet feet. There were a few patches of sinking sand en route though, possibly due to the recent heavy rains.
The photo shows underfoot the furthest accessible point from the north side and in front the river flows from right to left, turning here at quite a sharp angle.
