See SE3937 : Hall Tower Hill, Barwick-in-Elmet for a description and brief history of the site. The summit was occupied during World War II by a Royal Observer Corps station, of which only the concrete base remains. These bricks set into the concrete bear the name of Hartleys of Castleford who also made "Hartrox" earthenware goods.
