RZSS HWP - Polar Bear (Male) - Ursus maritimus
There are two large male Polar Bears at the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie. This is a view of one of them that was just a few feet away from us - he was a very large and impressive creature. They have a large area to roam in and seemed to be quite content. In a separate part of the park is a female and her (now quite large) cub, "Hamish".
Polar Bears are assessed as being "Vulnerable" and Climate Change is seriously affecting their habitat.
Polar Bears are the largest of all bears.
