An excellent view of the West of Scotland Cricket Ground
NS5566 : West of Scotland Cricket Ground. The caption is modest and belies the history captured within the frame.
If memory serves me correctly then this was the venue of the first Association Football international match between Scotland and England (in fact the first every international football match in the world). The score was nil nil.
In addition I believe that I might be correct in suggesting that Partick Burgh Hall appears in the centre of the picture and reflects a bygone day when Partick was a burgh in its own right.
Please correct me if I am mistaken on either of these two points.
