Protests behind Queen Victoria
The area behind the statue of Queen Victoria is often used for political demonstrations SJ8498 : Sudanese protesters in Piccadilly Gardens. Today it was a rallying point for protests about the state of affairs in Sudan SJ8498 : Stop the Torture in Sudan. According to the Manchester Evening News LinkExternal link 300 campaigners then marched down Mosley Street for a rally in St Peter's Square.
