SP7420 : Quainton Windmill - 5th floor

taken 6 years ago, near to Quainton, Buckinghamshire, England

Quainton Windmill - 5th floor
Quainton Windmill - 5th floor
This is the bin floor and wooden storage bins are seen behind the vertical main shaft. At the top of the shaft is part of the sack hoist mechanism. The wall pockets are for the nuts and bolts that hold the curb on the top of the tower. The cap rotates on the curb. The curb has been replaced as part of a recent extensive refurbishment that saw the sails replaced in early 2019.
