St Mary's was built in the early 1740s, and was designed by James Gibbs for the owner of the Patsull Hall estate, Sir John Astley. The bell tower and dome were added in 1874. The building replaced an earlier medieval church on the site. It is no longer in use for worship, and is maintained by the Churches Conservation Trust. The church is Grade II listed. A sign in the porchway asks for donations. Unfortunately I was unable to look inside, the church being locked, so they didn't get one. LinkExternal link
