The tower is a reproduction of the Horologium of Andronikos Cyrrhestes in Athens, and was completed about 1765.
Shugborough Hall and Estate :: SJ9922

An extensive country estate on the River Sow near Great Haywood in Staffordshire, originally belonging to the Bishops of Lichfield, and from 1624 by the Anson family. It is now owned by the County Council and run in conjunction with the National Trust. The hall itself, built c.1695 and enlarged 1760-1770, is Grade 1 listed (List Entry Number 1079637); several outbuildings and monuments on the estate are also listed and the estate as a whole is a Grade 1 Scheduled park (LEN 1001167).
